Urban League of Nebraska Scholarships

Introduction
The Urban League of Nebraska offers scholarships to help reduce the financial burden of pursuing higher education. Recognizing the importance of funding in achieving academic goals, the League awards local, state, and national scholarships to graduating high school seniors planning to enroll in a two- or four-year college or university.
Eligibility
To qualify for an Urban League of Nebraska scholarship, applicants must meet all of the following:
- Be a current resident of Nebraska
- Hold a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher
- Complete and document at least 10 hours of community involvement
- Have taken the ACT or SAT
Application requirements
Applicants must submit the following materials:
- Completed application form
- Official high school transcript or a G.E.D. certificate
- Two letters of recommendation from individuals who can speak to your readiness and motivation for college (recommendations from family members or relatives are not accepted)
- A personal essay (250–500 words) describing your goals, ambitions, and why you should be awarded the scholarship
- A résumé
- Any additional documentation requested by the selection committee

If selected, recipients may apply scholarship funds at any accredited two- or four-year college or university. The selection committee may request further information during review.
