Scholarships Offered

FEAE currently offers three named scholarships for deserving students in agriculture: the Dr. Edward H. Lloyd Memorial Scholarship, the Wilbur Ellis Graduate Student Scholarship, and the FEAE Family Member Scholarship. Each scholarship has a specified award amount and sponsor, and eligibility criteria vary by award. Awards may be offered to graduate students and, for one award, to qualifying undergraduate family members of NAICC members. The selection committee evaluates applicants based on merit and established eligibility requirements for each scholarship.

Dr. Edward H. Lloyd Memorial Scholarship — Description: An annually funded graduate scholarship established in memory of Edward H. Lloyd.

Dr. Edward H. Lloyd Memorial Scholarship — Eligibility: Graduate students in agriculture or closely related disciplines; awarded on merit.

Dr. Edward H. Lloyd Memorial Scholarship — History of the Award: Named in remembrance of Edward H. Lloyd, a founding member of the NAICC.

Wilbur Ellis Graduate Student Scholarship — Description: A scholarship sponsored by Wilbur Ellis to support graduate students in the agriculture industry.

Wilbur Ellis Graduate Student Scholarship — Award Value: $2,000.

Wilbur Ellis Graduate Student Scholarship — Eligibility: Graduate students in agriculture or related crop-production disciplines; awarded based on merit.

FEAE Family Member Scholarship — Description: An award for a student who is an immediate family member of an NAICC member.

FEAE Family Member Scholarship — Award Value: $2,500.

FEAE Family Member Scholarship — Eligibility: Graduate or undergraduate students who are immediate family (including grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins) of an NAICC member; final eligibility determined by the scholarship selection committee.

Application Submission Requirements

Applicants must meet academic and program-specific criteria and provide a complete set of supporting documents for review. Typical eligibility requires a completed undergraduate degree and enrollment as a full-time graduate student in a discipline aligned with crop production. The review process requires submission of an application form plus academic and professional documentation. Letters of reference are required to support the applicant’s qualifications and academic standing.

Eligibility: Full-time graduate students in majors closely aligned to crop production (e.g., Soil Science, Agronomy, Entomology, Horticulture, Plant Pathology, Weed Science, Crop Science) who have completed an undergraduate degree.

Required Materials: Application form; official transcript; résumé with work history; letter of reference from a major professor or faculty advisor; one additional letter of reference.

  • Submit a complete application packet: form, transcript, résumé, and two letters of reference.

Application Instructions

Follow the specified application procedures to ensure eligibility and timely review. Submit a single Graduate Application form to be considered for any of the graduate scholarships; one submission covers consideration for all graduate awards. Scholarships are awarded on merit, and payment (check) is issued upon presentation of verified registration. Deadlines are observed annually in December; any additional materials or letters not attached to the application should be sent to the contact below.

Single Application: Submit only one Graduate Application form to be eligible for consideration for all applicable graduate scholarships.

Awarding and Payment: Scholarships are merit-based; funds are distributed upon verification of student registration.
