Introductory statement
Each year the Charitable and Educational Trust of the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts, Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America, will award up to twenty scholarships of one thousand dollars ($1,000) each. In addition, donor-funded scholarships of varying amounts may be distributed; those awards are made either under these same procedures or according to rules specified by the donor.
Selection and numbers
The Scholarship Commission is responsible for recommending to the State Council a minimum of twenty principal recipients and six alternates. Among the principal awards, one shall be reserved for a student majoring in art, one for a student majoring in music, and one for a student majoring in Italian. One principal award shall be designated for a properly qualified applicant who intends to continue their education at a recognized and accredited vocational or technical institution (including two-year degree programs or certificate-granting schools). No more than four scholarships in total may be granted to properly qualified students who are residents of any state within the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts, regardless of whether they are affiliated with the Grand Lodge.
